The
Board of Elections still needs poll workers for the upcoming elections. If you're interested, respond as soon as possible by completing and submitting the
poll worker application.
Poll workers must be registered voters in Westchester County.
Job responsibilities include:
- opening the polls;
- hanging signs in accordance with legal requirements;
- checking parking and access for people with disabilities;
- directing voters to the correct polling location;
- verifying voters' qualifications; serving voters;
- maintaining a record of the Election Day’s activities;
- closing the polls; and calling in results at the end of the day.
Stipends are $225 for Election Inspectors, $225 for Poll Clerks, $250 for Chair people and $250 for Election Coordinators.
The hours are from 5:30 a.m. until after the closing of the polls at 9:00 p.m. You will be required to attend a mandatory 2 ½ hour training session prior to working an election, for which you will be paid $25. Workers chosen to work as election coordinators or on the new voting machines may be required to have additional training for which they will also be compensated.
