The following are service and advocacy organizations in Westchester County that focus on LGBT issues:

Center Lane/Westchester Jewish Community Services

Center Lane is Westchester’s only community center for LGBT and questioning adolescents.  Services include:  support groups; a drop-in center on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons; educational and recreational activities; short term individual, group and family counseling; and community awareness trainings about LGBT issues.

Gateway Program/Westchester County Medical Center

The Gateway Program located in the Behavioral Health Center at Westchester Medical Center provides individual, family, couple, group and substance abuse treatment specifically for LGBT persons.  Pre-teens through seniors receive the highest quality of care in a safe and confidential environment.  Linkages to primary care and specialty health care services are also provided.

GLSEN (Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network) – Hudson Valley Chapter - Westchester Subdivision

GLSEN strives to assure that each member of every school community- regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity - is valued and respected.  Services include monthly meetings, conferences and in-service courses for educators.  All who share in GLSEN's mission are welcome to become members.

Lambda Peer Support Services (LPSS), Inc.

LPSS, Inc. is an all volunteer organization providing workshops, discussion and focus groups, "Holiday Connections" and other programs for the LGBT community in Westchester and the surrounding areas.  LPSS strives to erase stereotypes about homosexuality and reduce the pain caused by homophobia, discrimination and prejudice.

The LOFT: The Lesbian and Gay Community Services Center

The LOFT is one of the oldest LGBT organizations in the lower Hudson Valley. Its mission is to provide a safe gathering place for the LGBT and supportive community in the lower Hudson Valley and to advocate for full equality for all LGBT people. Programs and services include: The LOFT Helpline; the Community News newsletter; a lending library; peer support groups; a senior outreach program; educational programs; social activities; and gala events. There are many opportunities to volunteer and membership is encouraged.

PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual and Transgender persons) – Westchester Chapter

PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of LGBT people, their families and their friends through support, education and advocacy.  Local monthly meetings and telephone support are available.

The Rainbow Alliance of Westchester, Inc.

The Rainbow Alliance of Westchester is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization committed to providing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community with a safe, nurturing, respectful and nonviolent environment that celebrates our cultures and offers support and education for members of the community.

Straight Spouse Support Network – Westchester Chapter

The Straight Spouse Support Network of Westchester provides support and resources for men and women whose current or former mates are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.  Our mission is to ease trauma, cope constructively with painful issues and nurture the strength to rebuild broken lives.

Westchester Lesbian Connection

The Westchester Lesbian Connection is an organization which promotes events for women in a safe space focusing on social, recreational, educational and theatrical activities. Planning meetings are held once a month where anyone can share their ideas for programs and events. Past activities include apple-picking, dances, educational workshops, coffee houses bowling & billiards, picnics, softball games, a trip to the Lesbian Herstory Archives and several productions of “If These Lips Could Talk” – Vagina Monologues.
