Message from
the County Executive:
If there is one thing that the World Trade center disaster has underscored for many of us, it is the need to make our families safe and secure.
In our complicated world, there are so many threats to our safety – whether from the forces of nature or the forces of evil.
So how do we make our families safe? Through information and education.
That’s what Keeping Us Safe is all about: Giving you information to protect your family – whether it’s how to properly install your infant’s car seat or how to protect an elderly relative from an unscrupulous contractor.
In one easily accessible place, you can find information to secure your home from break-ins, protect your teenager on the Internet or safeguard your 10-year-old on his bicycle.
You will also find links to local police, fire and emergency services agencies as well as links to the
FBI, U.S.
Courts, State Attorney General’s Office and more. I hope you and your family will find useful information in Westchester’s newest addition to its Internet family.
And don’t forget to visit our other web sites, Women’s Health,
Water Quality,
just for
kids Westchester and the World, and our websites for teens about
teen drinking and smoking.
