The Westchester County Department of Parks has taken over a number of landmark properties in the county and has used them to privide programs and events for the public.

In 1975, the county opened Muscoot Park on Route 100 in Katonah. The beautiful Georgian Colonial house was purchased by Ferdinand Hopkins in 1880 and operated as a gentleman's farm. Today the county has farm animals on display as well as herb and vegetable gardens. The farm is open for tours.
