NO EVACUATIONS NEEDED IN
AREA AROUND PROPANE TRUCK ACCIDENT ON I-684
In the aftermath of a
propane truck accident this morning on I-684, Westchester officials said there
is no need for emergency evacuation in the area. No one is in danger and there
is no leakage from the truck operated by L.P. Transportation Inc. of Chester,
N.Y.
However
the following measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the public:

I-684
has been closed from I-287 to Armonk.
·
Work
to right the overturned truck is presently underway by Nickey Biggs of Vails
Gate, N.Y. During that time, Rt. 120 in the vicinity and Airport Road will be
closed.
·
There
will be no flights in or out of the Westchester County Airport while the work
to right the truck is underway.
·
The
county departments of Emergency Services and Health are on the scene, as well
as the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
·
Fire
departments from Armonk and Purchase as well as the State Police, Harrison
Police and North Castle Police are on the scene.
