The Westchester County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Local Early Intervention Coordinating Council Parent Group and the Greenburgh Public Library, will be sponsoring a discussion, "My Brother/Sister is Special," on Tuesday, February 23, 1999, 7:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., at the Greenburgh Public Library, 300 Tarrytown Road, Elmsford, New York.

The discussion will allow participants to talk and learn about what it is like to live with a sibling who has special needs. Children ages seven and up are welcome to attend. Discussion topics will include: how it feels to have a brother or sister with special needs and how this affects their peer relations; how to handle difficult situations; how siblings of special children view their brother or sister in relation to society as a whole; and how having a sibling with special needs has changed their role in the family.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Reservations are not necessary and the library is wheelchair accessible. For directions, call the Greenburgh Public Library at (914) 993-1600. For additional information, call Susan Halper at (914) 637-4781.
