The Westchester County Department of Health today was notified of a low volume sewage discharge into Blind Brook, visible at the Highland Avenue Bridge near Purchase Street, City of Rye.

The City of Rye Department of Public Works and the Westchester County Department of Health are investigating the source of the sewage discharge and will take necessary action to correct it.

Westchester County Health Commissioner, Dr. Harold N. Adel, has stated that no public health consequences are anticipated as a result of this small volume sewage discharge.
