GROUND SPRAYING CANCELLED FOR TONIGHT, SEPTEMBER 15

Westchester County today postponed ground spraying plans for tonight, Friday, September 15, in the communities of Briarcliff Manor, Hastings-on-Hudson, Port Chester, Rye Brook and Yonkers due to anticipated cold weather and windy conditions.  Pesticide application at temperatures below 55 degrees to 60 degrees Fahrenheit is less effective.  The Health Department is currently assessing conditions to reschedule spraying in these communities and will announce the make-up date as soon as it has been determined.

Residents may call the West Nile Virus Information Line at (914) 637-2420 for the most recent information on West Nile virus, or they can visit the Health Department’s website at www.westchestergov.com/health.
