Health Department Alerts Residents To Phone
Scam
The
Westchester County Department of Health today alerted the public to a phone
scam that has been reported to their offices by several residents from
northern Westchester.
Someone
who is posing as a Westchester County Health Department staff person, is
phoning residents and telling them that the Health Department has recently
treated their neighbors home for rodents and will inspect and/or
exterminate their home for a fee of twenty-dollars.
Residents are advised that this is a scam, and that the Health
Department is not soliciting fees for rodent inspections.
The
Health Department is requesting that anyone who receives a phone call of this
nature, report the incident to his or her local police department. For more information, contact the Westchester County
Department of Health at (914) 813-5000.
