BEACHES CLOSED DUE TO SEWAGE PUMP BY-PASS

 

 

The Westchester County Department of Health today announced that 18 beaches will be closed as a precautionary measure due to a sewage pump by-pass at the Park Avenue sewage pump station, the Beach Avenue sewage pump station and the Flint Avenue sewage pump station in the Village of Larchmont; the Saxon Wood sewage pump station in Mamaroneck; and the Sutton Manor Pump Station in New Rochelle.

Rain-diluted sewage had been chlorinated and discharged into the Long Island Sound.

 

Specifically, the beaches are:

·        New Rochelle beaches: Echo Bay Yacht Club; Hudson Park; Marina's Edge; New Rochelle Rowing Club; San Souci; Davenport Yacht Club; Surf Club; Greentree Club; VIP Club; Beckwith Pointe; Glen Island
