View what the Town of North Salem is doing for the Mayor's and Supervisor's Challenge
regarding health and fitness:
• The new Volunteers’ Park located on
June Road (Route 124) is being well utilized by many residents especially
North Salem’s youth. With a regulation soccer field and baseball field, the
local AYSO, Baseball and Softball league as well as North Salem Central
School District keep this park the center of fun for all. There is also a
basketball court and a children’s play area.
• The Purdy’s Ridge hiking trail has already had two organized walks in June
by the local Boys Scouts and members of the Open Land Foundation. The
Purdy’s Ridge Hiking Trail is an easy-to-moderate circular hiking trail
approximately 1.5 miles long with natural springs and rock ledges is it a
good place to observe wildlife.
