Bonnie, when you have the urge for
a cigarette, do the 4 D's (if you are smoking) 3 D's if you have
quit.
Drink a glass of water, not coffee,
tea or cola
Deep breathe, 4 or 5 times slowly in thru the nose, out thru the
mouth
Do something - take a walk, clean a drawer, run the sweeper, chew on
a straw something that you can do in about 10 minutes. Make
this your ritual to get the thought off your mind. Make it
your habit every time the urge for nicotine comes.
