I have been trying to quit smoking
for almost 1 year now and presently in a Quit Smoking Program,
called "Put-It-Out-Rockland." It's my 2nd go-round with this
program and I'm still struggling. The most I can get off
cigarettes is 2 days & then the cravings are insane. I just
found out that Nicotine is an anti-depressant! When I began
smoking was right after college when a depression set in, in my
life. If anyone can start another 12-Step Nicotine Anonymous
meeting in Westchester County, I sure would appreciate it and if
Westchester Government could do for us what Rockland County is doing
- a stop smoking program where patches are provided free for 6
weeks, this would be helpful too. I know there are on-line
meetings and telephone help, but I find physically being at a
12-Step meeting just for smokers is so much more effective.
Any suggestions for depression sufferers would be welcomed.
