2008 Film Application
GENERAL INFORMATION
Categories: Feature, Documentary Feature, Narrative Short, Documentary
Short, International, Animation, Screenplay, Student Resident and Student
Non-Resident.
Film Awards will be given in the following categories: Best Feature
Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Short Film, Best Animated Film, Best
International Film, Best Screenplay, Best Student Film Resident, Best Student
Film Non-Resident and Audience Choice Award for Best Feature.
Since this is a juried festival, all submission screeners must be received by
the film festival office by January 15, 2008 in order to be considered for
screening.
Processing fee for students is $25.00. Processing fee for all others is $35.00.
Notification of films selected will be made by March 1, 2008. Films not
selected will be notified by mail thereafter. Upon acceptance two additional
viewing copies will be required. You may also send any press or publicity
information at that time
Festival schedule and ticket information will be available on our website after
March 3.
The Film Festival will be held at City Center 15: Cinema De Lux. 19 Mamaroneck
Avenue
White Plains, NY 10601.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE
All submission screeners and application forms MUST be received at the film
festival office by January 15th, 2008.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must be 18 years or older.
In the preliminary review process, all films submitted will be evaluated for
suitability based on the following: minimum production standards which include
lighting, sound, editing, storyline and overall audience appeal. Submissions
which, in the opinion of the reviewers, are libelous, defamatory, obscene, contain excessive graphic violence,
racially, culturally, or ethnically offensive will be rejected.
Films that have met minimum eligibility standards will be judged on
storyline/script, acting, direction, editing, sound, originality and overall
production value. The results will be computed using a numerical grading system.

Festival Disclaimer:
Entry does not guarantee placement in the program. However, each submission will
be carefully considered. Festival judges will pre-select entries that will be
featured as finalists at the festival. Finalists will then be judged by category
and the winners will be announced during the awards presentation at the
completion of the festival.
By submitting to the Westchester Film Festival, you warrant, as sole and
exclusive owner/s of all legal right and title thereto, that you have absolute
authority to submit the entry to the festival. You will hold indemnify and hold
harmless The Westchester Film Festival and Westchester County, its judges, its
sponsors and partners, individually and collectively, from and against all
claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses including
legal expenses arising out of or in connection with any and all claims,
including third party claims, based on films/videos submitted to Westchester
County Film Festival. You understand that not all films that enter are selected,
and if your film is not selected, you will not be refunded any fees. You
understand that if your film is selected, you are responsible for delivering
your film/tape to the festival in the time specified on the format specified.
You also understand that while the festival takes reasonable precautions with
your DVD that Westchester Film Festival and its companies, directors, employees,
associates and associated organizations are not responsible for damage or loss
of the tape and/or DVD.
Acceptance of Rules and Regulations: By signing this entry form for Westchester
Country Film Festival, Westchester County, the participant accepts, without
reservation, the terms and conditions of the present Rules and Regulations as
stated in this document.
