If I am discriminated against because of a disability, who can I call?
If you are discriminated against because of a disability in the areas of employment, housing, employment, public accommodation or credit you may call the Westchester County Human Rights Commission, located at 112 E. Post Road, White Plains, New York, 10605, (914) 995-7710 to file a complaint. In some cases you may be referred to other local human rights agencies to file a complaint. The Westchester County Human Rights Commission office will handle the complaint or make sure you receive timely and confidential assistance.

The office maintains an on-line comprehensive Disability Resource Guide to provide people with disabilities, their families and caregivers a convenient and accessible means of finding services throughout Westchester County. Yes, The Westchester County Office for the Disabled runs the para-transit system - a system of mini-buses specifically designed for those who cannot ride regular public transport. To apply for service call the Office for the Disabled at 995-2956.
