Westchester County considers any violation of the Source Separation Law to be a serious offense. The county will be stepping up examination of recycling by licensed haulers, municipalities and their contractors. It will also be providing assistance in auditing recycling practices and guidance in managing solid waste disposal programs with the use of this
self-audit form. This
video will guide you in assessing your recycling program. Send us an
email if you would like to get a copy of this video (in DVD format) for your municipality --while supplies last.
Both the
Municipal Solid Waste Management Plan and the
Private Haulers Plan forms can be viewed using the free
Adobe Reader software and printed for filing. More information on materials collection, disposal opportunities and innovative recycling practices are being planned and will be made available on this site.
The
Quick Recycling Guide is available to municipalities for distribution to residents who need to learn how to separate recyclables for curbside collection. The guide is available in
Spanish too.

Private haulers are now also offered access to all three county transfer stations to dispose of co-mingled recyclables at a rate of $62 per ton. If you are interested in using county facilities, complete the Private Hauler Application for Entry to MRF & Northern Tier for Tipping of Recyclables form and send it directly to the address listed on the form.
