All Chemicals must be in original or label containers. Close all bags and bottles tightly. Place all chemicals in a sturdy box and in the trunk of your car.
Residential chemicals only - Materials from businesses, institutions and schools will not be accepted.
There is no fee. Pre-registration is required for 60 pounds or more of solid material or 25 gallons or more of liquids.

You may not have to wait for a household chemical clean-up day to dispose of your special waste.  Call the county's Household Chemical Info Line at (914) 813-5425.

ITEMS ACCEPTED:
Properly labeled household chemicals, including: 
• Most Automotive Fluids - i.e., antifreeze, brake fluid & gasoline
• Fire Starter Fluids - i.e., kerosene, butane, charcoal fluid, turpentine
• Metal & Jewelry polishes, Furniture Polishes & Waxes; Wood
  Preservatives
• Pesticides, Insecticides, Herbicides
• Photographic & Swimming Pool Chemicals
• Paint thinners & solvents
Car Tires (maximum 1O)
• Fluorescent Light Bulbs
• Fire Extinguishers & Small Propane Tanks (1 & 2 lb. tanks ONLY) 
Rechargeable & Button Cell Batteries
• Cell phones
• Mercury (including items such as thermometers and thermostats)
• TVs, Monitors & Other Computer Hardware  

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:
PAINT - Oil & Latex - Dispose of with household trash in solid form.  
  Air dry and use kitty litter or waste paint hardener.
*Rye Brook, White Plains and Yorktown residents must dispose of   
  hardened paint on bulk pick-up days.
Motor Oil - Take to service station or motor oil retail outlet.
Vehicle Batteries - Take to a local scrap metal dealer or any vehicle
  battery retail outlet.
Non-rechargeable Batteries - Dispose of in trash.
Compressed Gas Cylinders - e.g., helium & oxygen tanks,20 lb.
  BBQ tanks.
Freon & Appliances with Freon - e.g., air conditioners,   
  dehumidifiers.
Smoke & Fire Detectors
Explosives e.g. flares, fireworks, ammunition
Pharmaceutical or Medical Waste
Materials from Commercial & Institutional Users



DIRECTIONS:

PLAYLAND PARK, Rye 
Take 1-95 to Exit 19/Playland Parkway. Proceed to end of Parkway. Follow signs. 


FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT (FDR) STATE PARK, Yorktown Heights- 
Taconic State Parkway to exit for FDR State Park. Follow signs. 


WESTCHESTER COMMUNITY COLLEGE, 
Valhalla 
From the north: 
Sprain Brook Parkway (south) to Eastview exit. Turn left onto Rte. 100 (Grasslands Rd.). College is 1/2 mile on right.

From the south: 
Sprain Brook Parkway (north) to Eastview exit. Turn right onto Rte. 100 (Grasslands  Rd.). College is 112 mile on right. 


COUNTY'S RECYCLING CENTER, Yonkers 
Yonkers (across from Stew Leonard's  and Home Depot) 
From the north: 
NYS Thruway (south) to first exit after toll booth, Exit 6A/ Stew Leonard Drive. Turn left at light. Follow signs. 
From the south: 
NYS Thruway (north) to Exit 6A/ Stew Leonard Drive (last exit before toll).  Proceed straight past STOP sign. Turn right at light. Follow signs.

CROTON POINT PARK, Croton-on-Hudson - Thruway to Exit 9, (Tarrytown). Proceed North on Route 9 for approximately 10 miles and exit at Croton Point Avenue turn left at end of ramp; turn left at light; Park entrance straight ahead.

Anthony Veteran Park, Ardsley
11 Olympic Lane - Saw Mill River Parkway South to Dobbs Ferry/Ardsley, Exit #17. Turn left at Ashford Ave., left onto 9A north. Bear right onto Heatherdell Road 1 mile, turn left on Olympic Lane and follow road to park.
