4 Dana Road, Valhalla, NY 10595, (914) 231-1616

Created in 2000 by the County Executive and the Board of Legislators, The Department of Emergency Services consists of four divisions (Fire Training, Communications, Emergency Management, and Emergency Medical Services). Previously, the EMS Office was part of Westchester County Medical Center.

The EMS Division is comprised of 1-Director/EMS Coordinator, 1-Regional EMS Coordinator, 2 Program Specialists, 2-Administrative Assistants, and 3 Zone Coordinators. The Division works on facilitating communications between EMS agencies and the County,  assists with mutual aid coordination during large scale incidents and is available to lend on-scene support with incident command when necessary.

Together with the Westchester Regional EMS Council (WREMSCO), the EMS Division coordinates educational offerings for EMS providers and disseminates training and educational announcements and associated information to agencies and providers via the department’s website, e-mail or fax distribution lists.  The EMS Division also collaborates with WREMSCO and the Westchester County EMS Advisory Board to find ways to enhance the effectiveness of the County's Emergency Medical Services system.

The mission of the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services is to enhance the quality of life of every person in the county by providing comprehensive Training, Communication and Emergency Response & Management services for municipalities and emergency service agencies in order to minimize loss of life, property and damage to the environment.
