"Westchester County Airport unveils new EMS equipment trailer."

With the collaborative efforts of the County Airport, Emergency Management Officials and Local EMS Agencies, the Airport has acquired a new state of the art emergency medical resource.

The trailer was designed to assist with the logistical medical needs in the event of a catastrophic event involving an EMS Trailer aircraft or other major incident. The primary function of the trailer is to enhance the airport's resource capabilities and to provide support to local responding agencies.

In the future, guidelines will be established to utilize the trailer and its resources at large-scale event within the County. The trailer will supply additional equipment for triage, immobilization, multi patient oxygen support, initial rehabilitation and an extensive lighting system.

As with any new equipment, familiarity is key to a good working knowledge. It is strongly suggested that your agency schedule a drill with the Airport staff to review the Airport Response Plan, Key Airport locations and to view the EMS trailer.
