Westchester CIO Norman Jacknis delivers 'CIO Course' in China's Silicon Valley
November 13, 2007 Westchester Chief Information Officer Norman Jacknis delivered an all day seminar to more than 75 public and private sector technology leaders in China's capital city. The event was a result of an invitation by the Haidian Science Park, the premier location for thousands of IT companies in the high-tech district of Beijing and known as China's Silicon Valley. The course drew upon Jacknis' professional experience as a technology executive in the private a well as the public sector, including Westchester County, where he has served as CIO since 1998. The course covered topics such as e-government and how to be a CIO. This is just one part of the County's ongoing cooperation with Haidian Science Park and helped to solidify the relationship between Beijing and Westchester, which is intended to open up new opportunities for local businesses. A formal agreement and list of specific projects of mutual interest will be signed by County Executive Spano in the coming months. |
