New York State has three so-called STAR Programs: Basic, which almost all homeowners can qualify for; Enhanced, for income-qualifying seniors; and Middle Class, a program that was launched in 2007 and continued in 2008. It has not been extended in 2009

County Executive Andy Spano is concerned that thousands of homeowners are not getting the rebates they are entitled to because they don't know about the Star programs or fail to apply for them.

The mailing of all Westchester County 2008 Middle Class STAR Rebate checks by the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, for those who received rebate checks last year, was completed by  October 31, 2008.  On these pages find out if you qualify and get general information.
