The day started at 7:30 am with a trip to the headquarters of China Telecom in Xiamen. This was in preparation for the videoconference between Chinese and Westchester businesses, which was very successful here in China. Some of the businesses came up to me after it was over and asked me to make sure that the Westchester businesses got back in touch with them. Also, the whole event was reported in local newspapers and on television. Considering that business and economic development people from all over China were in the city today for Second Annual China International Investment and Trade Fair, this provided a unique opportunity to spread the word about what Westchester businesses can offer.

County Executive Spano met with the videoconference participants.

After the videoconference was over, we proceeded to the site of the Trade Fair

There were an estimated 50,000 people in attendance.

The hall was jammed.

Even the VIP entrance in the back of the exhibition hall was quite crowded
