The Xiamen Special Economic Zone of China will provide an
opportunity to enter Chinas flourishing investment market and to develop trade
contacts with Chinas burgeoning foreign-funded enterprises.
The second China Fair for International Investment & Trade (CFIIT) will be held in
this modern city from Sept. 8th to 12th.
CFIIT, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation,
Peoples Republic of China, aims mainly at promoting investment, coupled with trading
products and technology of foreign-funded enterprises. Various provinces, municipalities
and autonomous regions will organize delegations made up of Chinas government
officials of various ranks and representatives from enterprises to participate in the
Fair. A number of projects that have been approved by the government and have support will
be presented at this Fair, as will a list of commodities for import or export. Moreover,
large-scale symposiums for international investment and briefings will be held and
authoritative policy consultation will be provided.
The first CFIIT in 1997 attracted more than 6,200 overseas businessmen. 1668 contracts
were signed with total investment of 6.219 billion dollars (US). The first CFIIT has been
acclaimed by noted overseas investment banks and business and financial circles.
Brief Introduction of China Fair for International Investment & Trade
Business Talks
Delegations from nearly forty provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions and
state industrial ministries will participate in the Fair. The Fair provides more than
twelve hundred exhibition booths, introductions to investment opportunities and projects,
and conference rooms and facilities.
Large-Scale symposiums
Representatives from international organizations and economists will be invited to the
"Symposium on International Direct Investment". Senior officials from select
Chinese ministries and economists will deliver addresses in the "Symposium on
Chinas policies of Utilizing Foreign Capital".
Investment Briefings
Introductions to investment opportunities. A guide to investments and explanation of
policies will be made by representatives from western, middle, and eastern parts of China
and select ministries. |
