In the event of an emergency, Westchester County would like to contact you. The county has expanded its communications system to allow the public to be contacted directly if there ever is a large-scale emergency. (If you are interested in non-emergency news, sign up for one or all of our Quick News bulletins.)
We can use e-mail, text messaging, and/or phone messages to provide information to you before, during or after a major storm or other disaster. This information might include updates about emergency conditions, what to do, where to go or other critical details that residents should know.
This added effort is intended to supplement — not replace — information you'll receive from television, radio and other sources. Further, it should not replace individual and family emergency planning. Not to mention, those situations when direct communication from the county is simply not possible.

Your contact information will never be shared; will always be kept confidential; and will never be used in any other county government application.
