From bustling city centers to bucolic natural landscapes, Westchester County contains a wide array of physical character areas.  Westchester 2025 aims to provide a palette of character area typologies to aid municipalities and residents in defining and mapping the unique character of their community with an eye toward protection, preservation or enhancement.   The character typologies can be used for comprehensive planning at the local level while providing a framework to discuss character issues on a County-wide basis.  Examples of the character area typologies now in development are listed and illustrated below.
