Do you know a middle or high school student whose academic talents or interests lean toward a career in medicine? If so, then encourage them to come to the
Rx for Succes: Dare to Be a Doctor conference. Taking place on October 18 at the County Center, the conference will introduce students to how they can pursue a fulfilling career in the medical field. They'll be inspired by the three key-note speakers -- three African-Americans who left the city streets, followed their dreams and became nationally renowned doctors known as "
The Three Doctors."
If you need to cool off indoors, consider a trip to the Neuberger Museum of Art at Purchase College to view its outstanding collection of African art. It's strongest in the arts of central Africa, however, major objects offer artistic insights into more than 30 cultures and span a geographic area from Mali to Mozambique.
