Meet Our Staff

Instruction will be provided by PGA pros from the six county golfcourses, with assistance from volunteer coaches. All coaches areexperienced golfers who have a genuine love of the game and areeager to share their knowledge and expertise with young people.

Tom Avezzano
Sprain Lake Golf Course, Yonkers
A Class A member of the Professional Golf Association for 38 years and operator of the pro shop for the past 29 years, Tom operates Sprain Lake’s pro shop with his son Tom, Jr. Tom Jr. has been the assistant pro at the club for 17 years and has organized and taught Junior Golf clinics for the past seven years. He is also a golf instructor for the Yonkers Adult Education program. Jeffrey Bohr

Dunwoodie Golf Course, Yonkers
A golf pro for the past 20 years, Jeff has been associated with several nationally ranked golf courses, including Shinnecock Hills in Southampton on Long Island and Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

Max Galloway
Mohansic Golf Course, Yorktown Heights
Head Pro Max Galloway has been teaching golf for over 30years. He developed the instructional curriculum for golf for Fort Hays State University, and founded and developed the golf instruction programs for the Bergen County Parks Department. He is also the author of You Can’t Get There From Here, a humorous look at golf instruction and the fundamental elements of swing.

Ralph Garofano
Saxon Woods Golf Course, Scarsdale
Ralph has come to Saxon Woods with a strong background. He was the assistant pro at Garden City Country Club and both assistant and head pro at Brae Burn Country Club. Ralph has over 15 years of teaching experience.
