WESTCHESTER COUNTY SUMMER ECOLOGY CAMPS

Welcome

Welcome to Westchester County’s Summer Ecology Camps, where children and teens in grades K-12 have countless unique opportunities to unlock the secrets of nature and to make a positive difference in their world. This award-winning program, which has been offering enriching camp experiences to young people since 1983, takes place at six Westchester County nature preserves that are conveniently located. The program, now in its 25th year, is conducted by a team of experienced and enthusiastic environmental educators and teachers.

Participants in the basic Children’s Summer Ecology Program (for grades K - 6) become aware of the natural environment through field experience that fosters curiosity, creativity, fitness and love of the outdoors. Older campers in the Conservationists-in-Training (grades 7 - 9) and Marine Biology (grades 10 - 12) programs develop their observation skills, learn about current conservation issues and more as they focus on self-reliance and teamwork. All levels are designed to make discovering the natural world fun and exciting.
