A Message from the County Executive
I don't know about you, but after the recent storms which dumped more than a foot of snow on Westchester, I am really looking forward to playing some golf on a warm sunny day. If you are also eager to play golf this year, give our golf courses a try. We are continuously investing to improve them and the programs we offer to reward our customers.

One such program, Golfer Rewards, gives you a free round for every 25 you play. Last season this program was very successful and we are bringing it back again this year.

For those of us who can't get enough of golf there is the replay program, which enables golfers to play a second round of golf on the same course that very day at a discounted price

This year we dropped the additional fee on golf carts equipped with the Global Positioning Satellite system. Now you can enjoy the convenience of this great system, which is successful throughout the world, for free.

Throughout our golf courses there have been many physical improvements. In fact, we are in the midst of a $38 million plan to improve golf courses. If you played on our courses in the last few years, you have seen the results. Each one of our "original" golf courses has already been rehabilitated and, of course, Hudson Hills begins its third season.

Golfing on our courses is better than ever. Have fun this season on our courses. I hope to see you out there

As always, have a great game!

County Executive, Andy Spano

Westchester Puts $$in Golf Courses
If you have played county courses in the last five years, you know that there is much more than golf going on. The county courses have been at the center of a major on-going capital program, which when completed will invest up to $38 million in county golf. Tees, greens, club houses, restaurants, fairways, cart paths, practice greens, parking lots, signs and more have been upgraded or will be improved as part of this program. Here are some highlights:

DUNWOODIE, Yonkers
In 2005, Dunwoodie underwent a major rehabilitation that renewed all 18 tees as well as expanding the 3rd, 5th and 8th  greens. Golf paths were paved and many were rerouted to ease access. Included in the project were renovated fairways, as well as new entrance road lighting and an upgraded electrical system in the clubhouse. Still to come is a new structure to store 70 golf carts away from the elements.
