Season of
We also reached a number of important milestones in making golf on our courses more enjoyable, accessible and affordable to resident golfers. Dunwoodie Golf Course reopened after a complete rehabilitation, which included 18 new and redesigned tees, three new greens, the 3rd, 5th and 8th, and new paved cart paths. The project completed the county's multi-year program to rehabilitate the five "original" public courses. When you count Hudson Hills, which opened last year, we now have six relatively new courses for you to enjoy. Throughout the season, we offered a variety of incentives to our golfers to save money. Golf discount coupons were e-mailed to those who signed up for on-line reservations. The Frequent Golfer Rewards program bought back a round of golf to loyal players who racked up 25 rounds. The Replay Program gave golfers who played a round in the morning a chance to play golf in the afternoon at a discount price. I hope you had a chance to enjoy some golf this year. Thanks for playing on Westchester courses and have a great holiday season. I will see you on the greens next year. Andy Spano, County Executive

Winter Is Here
Stretching exercises (a 10-minute stretching routine is a good idea), jogging, walking or even Yoga can help you to stay fit during the off-season. Max Galloway, the pro at Mohansic suggests staying active with stretching and strength building exercises. "You also can always practice your putt to work on your aim," Galloway says. "Make sure you are comfortable holding the golf club and practice your set up routine." If you want some more tips on staying fit, visit the BeFit Westchester website at www.westchestergov.com/fitness for some great information about how to stay fit.
