Westchester golfers can have fun
as they test their skills under a unique handicap during the
fifth annual Night Golf Challenge on Friday, September
26, 8 p.m., at Saxon Woods Golf Course in Scarsdale.
Golfers will play five holes
using glow-in-the-dark golf balls and follow a course marked
with glowing markers to guide them from hole to hole. Foursomes
are preferred for the event, and prizes will be awarded to the
winners.
Fee for the competition is $25
per person which includes the use of equipment, along with free
Buffalo wings at the course restaurant after play. Golfers must
provide their own clubs. No golf carts will be allowed, but
handcarts will be available.
Tee off time for all golfers is
8 p.m., with a scramble format to be used for play. The first 40
golfers are guaranteed a spot. Registration will take place at
the course on the day of the event. The tournament will take
place weather permitting.
The Night Golf Challenge is
sponsored by Westchester County Parks.
Saxon Woods Golf Course is
located on Mamaroneck Road in Scarsdale and can be reached via
the Hutchinson River Parkway to exit 22. Head right to the
entrance of the parking lot.
