If you are pregnant and you can't tell anyone and you don't know what to do, you are not alone.  Don't abandon your baby.  You can protect your secret and get help if your newborn infant is delivered unharmed.

Under the state Abandoned Infant Protection Act, parents, guardians or other legally responsible person who are unable to car for their newborn baby may anonymously and safely leave their baby in the care of a responsible person at a hospital, police station, fire station or responsible person at another safe location.

St. John's Riverside Hospital, located in Yonkers, New York is such a safe location or "safe haven" for unwanted newborns.  Young girls or women who deliver an unwanted baby (not more than 5 days old) can come to the Maternity Ward, 967 North Broadway, 3rd  floor at St. John's and hand over their newborn with no questions asked and know that their baby will be safe and well cared for.

St. John's also provides a helpline number, 1-877-796-4673, for any
interested party to call for further information.
