Rolling on the River

The Bronx River Parkway Reservation is an 807-acre linear park that slices through central Westchester County from Vahalla in the heart of the county south for more than 13 miles to the Bronx border. The Bronx River Reservation has been called the Westchester equivalent of New York City’s Central park and Westchester Parks, allied with other public agencies, private groups and volunteers, has been working hard to restore its quality and the value it adds to life in the county. The fact that the reservation is the “backyard” of many populated areas has made its recovery a challenge, but progress continues to be made. This report contains some of the accomplishments in 2004 and part of 2005.
