COUNTY TO HOLD ANNUAL WATER TASTING CONTEST MAY 12th
Westchester
County Department of Health announced today that it will hold its annual water
tasting contest to select the best tasting water in Westchester County.
County
residents can participate in the blind taste test at the Michaelian Office
Building, 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains, from 9am – 2pm on Thursday, May 12,
and select their favorite drinking water.
The participants in this year’s taste test will be Village of
Croton-on-Hudson Water District, City of Yonkers Water District, City of Mount
Vernon Water District, North Salem Water District, Greenburgh Consolidated
Water District, United Water of New Rochelle, and Hunts Farm Waterworks.
“Every
day, people make decisions that affect the water supply, whether it's turning
off the tap while brushing their teeth, disposing of household chemicals
properly, or supporting land use policies that protect community water resources,”
stated Westchester County Health Commissioner Joshua Lipsman, M.D.,
M.P.H.
“The most important decisions about water are made by individuals, and
each positive decision adds up to safer, cleaner drinking water. This water tasting contest provides us with
an excellent opportunity to remind residents to conserve, protect and get
involved to ensure that Westchester’s water is H2OK,” he added.
