NATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK CELEBRATION
Visiting Nurse Association to
receive “Distinguished Public Health Service” award
Westchester Library Director, Health Commissioner to speak
The Westchester County Department of Health will mark Public Health Week, April 4 – April 10, with a program celebrating public health and public information, held at the New Rochelle Library at 10:30 a.m. on April 7. The program will include a “Power Walk” that will begin at 145 Huguenot Street, New Rochelle at 10 a.m.
Board of Health President Douglas G. Aspros, D.V.M., will present this year’s Distinguished Public Health Service Award to Michelle A. Quirolo, President and CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley for the organization’s commitment to providing compassionate home care to Westchester residents for over 100 years.
Westchester County Health Commissioner Joshua Lipsman. M.D., M.P.H. will give an update on the status of Westchester’s health. Director of the Westchester Library System and former President of the American Library Association, Maurice J. Freedman, Ph.D., will complete the celebration with remarks about “Libraries & Public Health: A partnership for Public Health and Information.”
