View what Town of Cortlandt is doing for the Mayor's and Supervisor's Challenge regarding health and fitness:

This spring the town will be opening up two new athletic fields - a little league baseball field and a soccer field. The town of Cortlandt offers a wide variety of health and fitness programs for residents: men’s and women’s softball and tennis leagues, as well as yoga, exertone, running, jogging and walking programs. There are also a wide variety of youth sports and clinics for soccer, football, basketball, girls’ softball and roller hockey. The town will be issuing a brochure this spring promoting their many programs.

Two new athletic fields were dedicated in April and have been a great success in the Town of Cortlandt.

·         A little league field is being used by two Little League Districts. The field is for boys and girls 8 to 12 years old. The Town of Cortlandt has a great partnership with both districts and helps them promote the great sport of baseball.

·          A new soccer field is used mainly for seven travel soccer teams that participate in the East Hudson Soccer League. The Town also uses it for the in-house soccer league and will be running a youth football-conditioning program this summer on the field. In the past the town has had to rely on the schools for their soccer fields. Their new field gives the Town the opportunity to increase participation in their in-house and travel soccer program.

·         The adult leagues of softball and tennis have been a success with 40 men’s  and 10 women’s softball teams, and 3 tennis teams. Over 800 adults are participating.
