The
Westchester County Department of Health was today notified that, due
to excessive rainfall, the Beach Avenue sewage pump station and the
Flint Avenue sewage pump station in the Village of Larchmont had
reached their capacity at around 4 pm.
Rain-diluted sewage is being chlorinated and discharged into
the Long Island Sound.
This
is considered a Level I event.
There is no public health threat from this event.
