Lead Paint Lessons

Beth Lorenzen, a Lead Based Paint Professional from the county Health Department’s Lead Primary Prevention Program, gave a lunchtime lesson on the dangers of lead paint to second graders at Museum School 25 in Yonkers on Thursday, Feb. 4. She also gave the children materials to take home to their families.

With state funding, the county is focusing on identifying and correcting lead hazards in homes in certain neighborhoods in Yonkers, Mount Vernon, White Plains and New Rochelle, where there are many older homes. For more information about how the program may help you, read the press release.
